Measuring what now?

Had another OB appt today....

Uterus is measuring 45 weeks. Egawds....

Heard the HB again, and that was about it.

I did get a growth spurt from the babies last week (I think) because their movements became super powerful but reassuring, and I am so uncomfortable now. Hard to sit, stand, sleep, walk, lay down, etc....

Looks like the stretch marks have made their way north of the belly button, but I don't mind....All in the name of motherhood....

U/S # - Oops lost count

So we had another u/s today. Yay! Got to see the babies again. So reassuring. Not sure how I would handle a single pregancy, since we've been spoiled seeing the babies once a month.

Both babies are both measuring about 4.5 pounds. And looking like 33 weeks instead of the 32 I will be at this week. Cervix is at 3 (which is normal) and we got to see a nice face profile of Baby A, and it appears to be like he was mouthing "meow", while Baby B was practicing his breathing...

Other than that we couldn't see too much as things are pretty tight in there. Glad those techs know what they are doing. Got to see the stomach, kidneys, and heart again.

IGT

IGT = Impaired Gluclose Tolerance

Yay! I don't have gestational diabetes (GD) but I do have IGT. Which is basically is on the pathway to GD. I just have to keep my blood sugars under control. I do get the priveledge of pricking my finger 4 times a day to monitor my sugars. I am also on a modified diet. I went back for the one week later appt and met with the nurse and dietician again, but also a DR this time. My sugars all seem to be under control but the Dr did warn me that as I continue in this pg my blood sugars will continue to rise.

All in all I really don't mind the modified diet and taking my blood sugars as long as I don't have to take insulin.

Got milk? A Failure? And a good appt

Ok. So we had our prenatal class on breastfeeding. Wow....That's a whole lot of information to take in...Really it is....

1 baby feeds 8-12 times in a 24 hr period, and multiply that by 2 and that's up to 24 times in 24 hrs. Yikes! Truth is, I'm a little nervous about breastfeeding. How will I know they are hungry? How will I know they are getting enough? How will I know if I can breastfeed?

Like most women, we hope we can BF, but it will not be the end of the world if I can't. I plan on expressing too, so that DH can bond with the babies as well.

So I've decided not to buy a double electric pump until I know for sure that I can BF, and we aren't going to buy nursing bras until we know my size. I have packed some sports bras to wear home from the hospital.

Well we got the official news at our OB appt on Jan 14 (30 weeks). I failed my 2hr GTT. Not really sure what that means but I have to attend a diabetic class Monday morning at 8:00 am (Not to mention cutting into my prime sleeping time). Will report back. As for the OB appt. Things are progressing nicely. Uterus is measuring 41 weeks (that explains my extreme uncomfy-ness). So I made it to 30 weeks...MILESTONE achieved! Yay! Now my goal is to 34 weeks....Dr mentioned that since the pregnancy has been going so well, we better up the appts to once a week just in case. Things are getting pretty tight in my belly.

I am still able to make it out of the house with DH 2-3 times a week, as long as the outing isn't very long. I have having a hard time sitting in the car, and walking for long periods. I've also graduated to yoga pants everyday when we go out, none of my other pants are fitting anymore. At home, it's pjs.

Since I am at home all the time I sleep, or watch tv, or search motherhood info on the net, play video games, read, etc. I make sure to take a shower or a bath everyday as well as get up and walk around the house as much as I can manage....

Stretch marks are still coming, but motherhood will all be worth it, so not too worried. I can still manage to shave my legs by myself, but my vajayjay it's getting very difficult. I get DH to help out where he can, but mostly it looks like a really bad lawnmowing job.

Babies movements are increasing in intensity, but no real contractions yet (at least I don't think so). My belly is always super tight, so hard to tell when things cramp up....

Not much longer now...In the home stretch

Sorry, it's been so long....

Sorry folks it's been so long since my last post...I admit it, I've been super lazy. I can't believe it's been about a month since my last day of work. Of course Christmas was pretty busy this year so that just flew by. I must admit that I thought I would be really bored at home, but surprisingly I haven't been...Maybe it's because I sleep the days away. :-)

Jan 2 - Went it for my 1hr GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test). Failed that test, have to go back for the 2hr GTT

Jan 5 - Went for a massage and a pedicure, courtesy of my work group.

Jan 8 (29 weeks) - Went it for my 2hr GTT. I had to fast for 12hrs. That was super hard. I don't really mind the orange crush flavoured drink I had to drink in 5 minutes, it was the 2 hours waiting around in the waiting room that was b-o-r-i-n-g! Failed that test.

Babies are super active, which I love...because DH and I get to feel them move around all the time; however it's super annoying. lol I'm getting up usually every 2 hrs in the night to go pee, and on top of that it really hurts to turn over in bed...that is...if I ever get to sleep.
I've been having trouble getting to sleep and staying asleep. My sleep is disrupted...Maybe 2 times a week I have a really good sleep. My best sleeping times are 4-9 am. I hardly even hear DH get ready for work.

Ah.....the joys of twin pregnancies...Gotta love it....

Soon babies soon....We will get to finally meet....
